How to install SE (Single ended) Dreadlock Extensions

Hvordan påsættes SE (Single ended) Dreadlock Extensions

Installing dreadlock extensions is a process that requires care and precision to achieve the desired result. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install dreadlock extensions:

Materials you need:

  1. Dreadlock extensions: Choose extensions made from synthetic or real human hair, depending on your preferences and budget.
  2. Comb: To create precise sections and prepare your natural hair. We recommend our steel comb.
  3. Elastics: Used to "fasten" the ends of the braid.
  4. Clips: Use these to separate sections of your hair during installation.
  5. Tightening gel: Optional, but can make braiding easier and provides hold.
  6. Multi Tool: With this you can pull the ends from the braid into your extension. It gives a nice finish.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Preparing your hair:
    • Wash and dry your hair thoroughly to remove excess oils that can affect the durability of dreadlock extensions.
    • Comb your hair to remove any tangled areas and divide it into sections depending on where you want to place the dreadlocks.
  2. Creating Sections:
    • Use the comb to carefully divide the hair into sections of the desired size. Make sure the sections are even and precise for a neat result.
  3. Attaching dreadlock extensions:
    • Take a section of your hair, pull the tuft through the loop on your extensions.
  4. Securing Dreadlocks:
    • If desired, apply a bit of dreadlock gel to hold the hair in place and ease the braiding process.
  5. Braid:
    • Braid the hair tuft and your extensions. Finish with an elastic and pull the end of the tuft of hair into your extensions, by passing the loose hair tool up through your extensions so that it comes out at the hair, and pull this in. This makes the braid hold tighter as the loose ends are kept inside in your extension.
  6. Styling and maintenance:
    • Once all the dreadlocks are installed, you can style them according to your preferences by decorating them with strings and beads.
    • If your extensions are braided, we recommend that you wash them gently with shampoo as little as possible.
    • The dreadlock extensions of real hair require the same maintenance as natural dreadlocks. Oil, hand rolling with tightening spray or gel.

Remember, the key to successfully installing dreadlock extensions is patience and care. If you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, it may be a good idea to seek help from a professional dreadlock hairdresser to ensure a beautiful and durable result.
