How to tighten the tips

Sådan opstrammer man spidserne: En Trin-for-Trin Guide
If you desire rounded ends on your dreads, regular trimming of the tips is essential to maintain a well-groomed appearance. Here's our guide for you.

Step 1: Toupee and Push Up

  • Tools: Use a dreadlock comb or a strong metal comb.
  • Action: Toupee the loose hairs at the end of the dreadlock and push the new knots all the way up to the fixed part of the dread. This helps bring loose hair higher up in the dreadlock.

Step 2: Rub for knots

  • Action: After pushing all the hair up as high as possible, rub the end of your dread in the palm of your hand. You can use some Lock Powder to help the process. Gently rub clockwise or counter-clockwise to form knots. The goal is to create texture and structure at the end of the dreadlock.

Step 3: Finish with Palm Rolling

  • Action: Palm rolling is essential to maintain the shape of your dreads. Place the dread between your palms and roll them as if you are trying to start a fire with two twigs. You can add a little bit of gel at this point for extra durability.

Tip: Regular Maintenance is Key

  • Incorporate this procedure into your regular maintenance routine. Although you won't see instant results, consistent repetition will gradually cause stray hairs to assimilate into the core of the dread, resulting in the ends rounding out as the dread matures.

Create and Maintain Dreadlock Perfection

Achieving and maintaining perfect dreadlock ends takes time, patience and regular attention. By following this step-by-step guide, you can create the desired shape on your dreadlock ends and maintain the iconic round look.
